YOUNG DANCE Festival at the Theater Casino Zug overview
Mon 26. September – Sat 01. October 2022
International dance festival for young people
A joint production between YOUNG DANCE ZUG and the Theater- und Musikgesellschaft Zug
young | innovative | lively
This innovative dance festival for young people – the only one of its kind in Switzerland – is ready to celebrate its seventh edition! YOUNG DANCE has been making a name for itself right from the beginning with its national and international productions designed especially for a younger audience. The festival is technically on-point and uses a wide range of professional formats to give spectators a chance to feel part of the show and experience the thrill of dance at close quarters.
This year’s show will see YOUNG DANCE unveil a new digital platform, offering schools and young people all sorts of ways to take part virtually. At the same time, the festival is getting back into theatres and celebrating contact and creativity in the here and now. YOUNG DANCE is breaking new ground this autumn – ground where the virtual world combines with nature and the physical, everyday version, giving their audience a whole universe in which to discover dance in all its facets.

«Achten»
Mit Seraina Sidler-Tall
Workshop
for all ages
Festsaal
Duration: 4.00 – 5.30 p.m.
The workshop «Achten» creates space for mindfulness, sensuality, intuition and empathy. Through inner and outer movement, «Achten» shows simple ways to quickly and purposefully achieve healthy self-regulation and self-awareness. Experiencing polarities such as inhaling and exhaling, speed and slowness, noise and silence, fullness and emptiness initiates an inner process in which balance can take place. We understand that feelings are moving energy and discover how we can specifically build up or reduce energy through movement. In this way we achieve more balance and a serene joy of life.

«TANZ & SCHULE»
Workshop in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tanznetzwerk Schweiz reso
To make the diversity of dance education projects at or with schools visible, Reso launched a survey in mid-June. The aim is to collect projects that have already been carried out at national level. The projects will be compiled in a booklet so that they can be passed on to other schools, mediation agencies, theatres or festivals if possible.
As part of the YOUNG DANCE Festival, experts will discuss the existing offers and possibilities in the current cultural landscape in a workshop.
