Have a good laugh at Theater Casino Zug
For over 10 years now, our English Stand-up Comedy has been a regular source of laughter. Even if you’ve just arrived in Zug, while in the Theater Casino Zug you can consider yourself a local or at least get in touch with some real Swiss, have a good laugh together and enjoy the local curiosity about British humour.
The fish and chips are produced locally but à la British, while the beer and the comedians are the freshest, finest imports that can be mustered. Most important is the audience: a true melting pot of nations worldwide. This is Zug – welcome home!
Dane Baptiste has had a decade of dominance as a trailblazer, innovator and incendiary voice in the comedy community. The last 10 years of Dane’s career have come with a number of personal and industry milestones.
In 2014, Dane was nominated for Best Newcomer at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it turns out he was the first Black British comic to ever be nominated. This lead to Dane creating, writing and starring in ‘SunnyD’ on BBC Three, the first sitcom written by a black British writer with a Black British cast to appear on the BBC in over 20 years. The show was purchased by Lionsgate, with the intention of remaking an American version of the show under the auspices of ‘Scary Movie’ creator Keenan Ivory Wayans.
Dane went on to amass a number of TV and Radio credits, including appearing on and hosting Live At The Apollo in 2015 and 2017 respectively, whilst also appearing on a wide variety of recognised comedy TV shows, including 8 out 10 Cats, Countdown, Mock the Week and Comic Relief to name a few.
Dane’s Live work has gone from strength to strength since his debut show ‘Citizen Dane’; with successive live shows ‘Reasonable Doubts’ and ‘Gold Oil and Drugs’ not only being sell out international tour shows as far afield as Australia and the UAE, but also being adapted for shows such as ‘Live At The BBC’ on Netflix and ‘Live At Soho Theatre’ on Amazon Prime.
This covers TV, Radio and Streaming, which only leaves the world of podcasts, which Dane is also thriving in with his podcast ‘Dane Baptiste Questions Everything’ and appearances on a host of different podcasts spanning many genres.
DBQE has risen to prominence in a short space of time and has enjoyed guests ranging from BBC’s Reggie Yates, Pop Superstar Jamelia, Conservative peer Baroness Warsi to former Labour leader Ed Miliband. This has lead to top listings for Comedy and Conversation Podcasts on Spotify as well as award nominations from the National Comedy Awards and PodBible.
More recently; Dane created and starred on the critically acclaimed ratings smash ‘Bamous’ on the BBC as well as his first web series ‘The A-Z Of Blackness’ on YouTube. Dane continues to gig internationally, as well as providing writing services on ‘Attack of The Film Cliches’ alongside Charlie Brooker, and writing for CBBC and for BGT winners alongside regularly appearing on Daytime TV. After the release of his first online special, ‘The Chocolate Chip’ alongside 800 Pound gorilla, Dane will be back on international tour in 2024.
Tim Clark has one of the most recognisable faces in British comedy. As a comedian, he has been working for 20+ years honing his great craft as a stand-up, a much-in-demand compere and a corporate host. His regular appearances at live venues throughout the U.K. and overseas keep his wit sharp and his material fresh.
He was the first western comedian to work in Beijing, China and can still be found working in a variety of diverse situations, from military shows to corporate events.
Tim is also a successful writer and actor. His striking looks, quick wit and affable nature ensures that he makes an instant impact on TV and radio.
His extensive sporting knowledge has made him well suited as a guest on radio (including BBC Radio5Live’s “Fighting Talk”) and a writer on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards. He was also co-writer (with Barry Cryer) on the BBC’s ‘Stand-up Show’.
Tim has also written material and speeches for several well known sporting, political and entertainment personalities.
