Zug World Refugee Day is an annual event which takes places at the end of June to promote awareness and discussion of the everyday realities of life for those who have had to flee their homes and now live in our region. It provides a whole host of opportunities to gain insights into the situation of refugees and to come into contact with them, as well as being an intercultural festival where each participant can learn from the others while sharing information, experiences, music, games and food.

Refugee days are held every summer in Switzerland. They shine a light on the fate of those who have fled, and bring them into contact with local people. In Zug, this initiative is organised by a number of different institutions. The catholic and reformed churches, various clubs and associations as well as refugees and locals will be running the Zug World Refugee Day 2026 in close conjunction with the Theater Casino Zug. An integral part of coming together is exchange and most notably cooperation, to allow mutual understanding to grow. The programme contains workshops, musical performances and culinary highlights, and a lot more besides.
