Surge is definitely more than just a solo performance: it is a duet between a singer / performer and a digital image- and soundscape. The show brings to life a character that exists in the fringes between our organic and our digital world, an android that tests the boundaries of its digital existence in order to feel and to sense. In some ways, it is an artificial being looking for “real” life. Surge is a vision of the future which suggests that we are increasingly having to share our planet with a new form of life – technology. Surge also confronts the audience with the question of what it means to be human and arouses curiosity around how we imagine the artificial beings of the future.

The show creates a fascinating audio-visual experience on the stage, with the lighting and sound making for a digital space that will captivate the audience. This genre-spanning performance also features new music by British producer ITAL TEK and a live appearance by singer Jemima Brown.
