Daredevil | Delicate | Breath-taking

FahrAwaY is a small Swiss travelling circus which has been delighting young and old with its performances since 2010. Their programmes feature fantasies on the high wire and stories spinning with saltos, all in a breathtaking spectacle accompanied by live music. FahrAwaY play in big tops and in the open air, in big cities and small villages, on farms and in new venues throughout Europe – and now at the Theater Casino Zug.

«Elefant» is an unconventional circus performance. All it requires is a few kilos of iron, some instruments, some wood and some wool. This good-natured, absurd and at times other-worldly journey embodies the daredevil spirit of the circus elephants of yore. They are huge – their corpulence makes them come across as raw, and yet at the same time they are soft, delicate and graceful.

The circus elephant is a veteran presence. Nina Wey, Valentin Steinmann and Solvejg Weyeneth ask the question as to which tradition they belong to and which fascination drives them. The cortege features typical circus objects and disciplines such as the trapeze and the diabolo, as well as new props which do not tend to be found in the big top. FahrAwaY constantly surprise their audiences with new ideas from their workshop, and their performances are always pared down and authentic, as if freshly created every time.
