For Schools

The Young Theater Casino Zug offers a diverse theatre programme specifically designed for schools. The productions address current issues relevant to the lives of children and young people and invite them to explore new perspectives. In connection with selected performances, free school workshops are offered for preparation or follow-up, as well as introductory sessions, post-performance discussions, and the educational format «Theatre Class».

The programme also includes classroom productions that bring the theatre experience directly into the classroom for the respective year group.

Practical exercises, short scenes, and discussion formats are used to explore the themes of each production. In addition to the workshops, theater education material folders are also available for selected performances.

The theater tours for school classes at the Junges Theater Casino Zug combine exciting background information about the theater and its professions with the direct experience of a theater performance. With a look behind the scenes, students learn how a production is created, what tasks different theater professions have, and how many creative processes are involved in a performance. The tours take place in conjunction with a performance visit or by individual arrangement and are free of charge. Each tour is tailored to the needs of the respective school class in terms of content and duration. This creates a suitable offer for all age groups and cycles.

In addition to informative insights, the aesthetic and content-related aspects of the production are also a focus. This makes the tour the ideal preparation for a visit to the theater and promotes an understanding of art, the stage, and forms of expression. The theater tour lasts around 45 minutes and can be flexibly tailored to the age and interests of the children and young people.

With its theater class, the Junges Theater Casino Zug offers an innovative educational format for older students. The aim is to experience the creative process of developing a play up close and to engage intensively with themes, characters, and stage work. As part of the in-house production “De Franzos im Ybrig” (ages 14 and up) and the co-production “Mythos” (ages 14 and up), a school class is invited to attend rehearsals and engage in direct exchange with the ensemble. Students gain exclusive insights into the artistic work, the directing processes, and the development of a production.

Registration for the theater class for the production “Mythos” is open until October 3, 2025. Price: CHF 300 per class

For cycles 1 to 3, there is a classroom play for each cycle, accompanied by a discussion or workshop. This allows students to see their familiar surroundings from a new perspective and experience the actor up close.

The play comes directly to the classroom without any technical equipment and lasts for two lessons. In the first lesson, the students experience the play, and in the second, there is a playful follow-up discussion with the theater educator.

Bookable for school classes in their classroom, dates by arrangement. We recommend booking early.
