More information
This season, selected performances will once again be followed by in-depth discussions with experts and the artists involved. The focus will be on the myths of the world. Myths continue to enjoy unbroken popularity. But is this justified? What do they tell us about the past, present, and future—and about ourselves as human beings? Myths are stories. Myths are untrue stories, lies, and deceptions. Myths are timeless truths. Myths are models that shape our collective actions and experiences. Myths are constantly being rewritten, based on playful and free variation, and are in constant flux. Myths can also become ideologies and thus dangerous. That is what the themed talks will be about. Freely adapted from Hölderlin: «Because we are conversation and learn from each other.»
Participants:
Dramaturge for opera and concerts at Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn: Meike Lieser
Senior judge at the High Court of the Canton of Zug: Peter Huber
