Familienkonzert mit Musik von Antonín Dvořák

Venue
Theatersaal
Otilka is incredibly excited: soon she will be traveling across the ocean to America on a steamboat. Her father, the famous composer Antonín Dvořák, is going to teach at the conservatory there for two years and research American music. Fourteen-year-old Otilka discovers a whole new world that is so different from her Czech homeland. She experiences the bustling, colorful streets of New York and a long, exciting train journey across the country to the state of Iowa, where she spends the summer with her family. During her impressive stay abroad, Otilka gets to know many different people and their music and dances.
A string quintet from the Zug Sinfonietta and music educator Rahel Zinsstag take their young audience on an exciting journey to the USA, packed with rousing music by Antonín Dvořák and other composers and illustrated with images that immerse the audience in another world.
