Time travel | Cosmos | Experience space
Trickster-p once again push back the boundaries between theatre, art installation and perception. The company from Novazzano in Ticino, led by Cristina Galbiati and Ilija Luginbühl, have established themselves as one of the most internationally renowned ensembles in Switzerland. «Common land» sees them invite the audience on a journey through time and space, deep within their own perception.
The best way is to come to this theatrical installation with no expectations, no spoilers, no preconceived ideas. Three screens, two actors, comfortable seats and a cocoon of a sound universe serve to create an experience space for all the senses. The classical separation between stage and audience is removed, and everything becomes one. «Common land» is about thinking and feeling together as a collective. Again and again throughout the history of humanity, we have wandered the same landscape: a house, a field, a forest and behind it, the seemingly eternal silhouette of mountains. The path leads from great history to the time of the smallest things, continually going back and forth until the quantum era, when space and time melt into one.
Perception is thus suspended and reference points become unsteady, perspectives broader. Man is no longer the focus: he is reduced to a mycelium, part of a subcutaneous, thread-like networked system. «Common land» is an odyssey to our own selves, as individuals and as a collective.
