Zug accordionist Patricia Draeger is a highly respected member of the folk and world music scene, playing an important role in a variety of new folk music ensembles. For this exceptional concert, she has brought together some of her leading contemporaries from near and (very) far.

Accordion: Patricia Draeger
Saxophone and Schwyzerörgeli: Albin Brun
Violin: Amr Darwish
Oud: Mahmoud Desouki
Bass: Bänz Oester
Drums: Samuel Baur
Vocals: Isa Wiss
Accordion: Sergej Simbirev

Patricia Draeger originally studied the flute. As an accordionist, she has been active as a performer, arranger and composer in the field of folk and world music since 1992. In the meantime, it is impossible to imagine new Swiss folk music without her. Current projects include the Ala Fekra Project, Accordion Duo Draeger - Simbirev, Albin Brun Alpin Ensemble, Duo Patricia Draeger and Albin Brun and Corin Curschellas. She has played in Christy Doran's «Bunter Hund», Hans Kennel's «Alpine experience» and was a member of the legendary «Tienshan-Switzerland-Express» with musicians from Siberia, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia. She teaches at the Hochschule für Musik in Lucerne, among other places.

The Theater Casino Zug’s new «Heimatklänge» (regional sounds) series is a crazy amalgamation of folk music, Balkan brass, feminist agit prop yodelling, Alpine brass music and oriental sounds. Highly-talented musicians with a real sense of perspective have dusted off the sounds of their respective homelands and given them new musical horizons. They all share the belief that your own roots are always the best foundation to build on, making these concerts a real pleasure for one and all, and not merely reserved for fans of new Swiss folk music.
